Qualifications and Experience:
  • A University Degree in Business, Commerce, Computer Science or Economics; or equivalent experience;
  • 3+ years experience using a recognized software development methodology;
  • 5+ years experience in business analysis;
  • Minimum of 10 year overall business/IT experience;
  • Experience preparing responses to RFP documents;
  • Experience gathering, documenting and championing client's systems requirements;
  • Experience documenting business cases, rules and data models;
  • Secret level security clearance.
Responsibilities:

As a Business Analyst within the ID Systems Operations group the incumbent will be accountable and responsible for the following:
  • Work with the project manager and the business to identify and document the scope of the solution to be delivered;
  • Work with key stakeholders, using a variety of techniques, to elicit the client.s business and functional requirements;
  • Document all requirements in a clear, uniform and unambiguous manner and gain formal client agreement to them;
  • Work with the client to understand their business processes, system architecture, data model and operational environment in order to identify the optimal solution workflow and to recommend and document new or modified business processes;
  • Use knowledge of the applicable regulatory environment and industry best practices to provide expert advice to the client on recommended approaches;
  • Understand the technical aspects and implications of all CBN solution components, interfaces, data storage and network communications in order to work with system designers and architects to develop high level solution definitions;
  • Develop functional specifications to drive development of individual solution components;
  • Review CBN system design and delivered system to ensure compliance with business requirements and best practices;
  • Review test documentation and results to validate detailed solution conformance with requirements and best practices;
  • Ensure security requirements and best practices are considered at all stages of the project;
  • Participate in quality gate reviews at key milestones in the project;
  • Carry out solution acceptance testing in lieu of clients as required;
  • Assist the project manager with deployment planning as required;
  • Define and document Change Requests and provide the project manager with impact assessments where applicable;
  • Estimate and plan for all Business Analyst project deliverables;
  • Provide feedback to the Project Manager on progress and issues;
  • Participate in the review of RFPs to identify requirements and proposed solution approaches;
  • Work with the business, system designers and architects to draft responses to client RFPs;
  • Participate in Pre-Sales activities as required;
  • Work with the Marketing team to identify and implement core system enhancements based on knowledge of current and future customer needs.

  • Effectively use listening and interpretive skills to understand business and technical issues;
  • Build and maintain effective customer relationships;
  • Knowledge of UML an asset;
  • Highly articulate, with strong technical writing skills;
  • Experience in project management an asset;
  • High degree of tenacity and persistence to get tasks completed on schedule;
  • Extremely motivated with a strong understanding of deadlines and commitment to schedules;
  • Possess strong analytical skills;
  • Able to perform well under pressure;
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
