Location:   Ottawa, ON, Canada

Reporting to:   DBA Team Leader

General Objective:

To work in software development team as a database developer, database administrator and system administrator. We are looking for a junior resource, which will be trained on the job to meet the requirements for the position. Fresh graduates are welcome.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop report layouts and database objects
• Perform performance tuning
• Deploy servers, server applications and databases in development and test environments
• Troubleshoot problems related to systems and databases
• Develop backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Travel to customer sites for production deployment
• Provide support to production environments remotely
• Create system and database documentation
• Provide training to first line support staff

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field
• Experience in developing and administering database systems is an asset
• Experience or knowledge of any RDBMS is an asset
• Experience or knowledge of data modeling and database design is an asset
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux
• System administration or networking experience is an asset
• Must be willing to travel internationally
• Self motivated and action oriented team player
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to work in a team
• Strong communication skills in English (other languages are additional assets)
• Eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance
