The Laboratory Technician position at Canadian Bank Note Company Ltd is ideal for the right candidate that appreciates working in a dynamic manufacturing environment with a wide range of career opportunities. CBN is looking for recent Engineering graduates to accept the challenges of this newly created position head on and implement the processes required to maintain a leading edge laboratory in the security printing industry.
- Operate lab equipment to determine quality of incoming materials and samples from production
- Perform special inspections as necessary to support production and manufacturing engineering
- Create well written documents containing the results of investigations, data sheets, and scientific reports as needed
- Maintain accurate records of analyses for manufacturing
- Review results of investigations with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering, and to determine corrective actions and process parameter settings
- Coordinate calibration and certification of lab equipment
- Maintain 5-S environment for the laboratory
- Interface with coworkers and customers to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level 2 Security Clearance from the Canadian government
- Well organized and able to focus on several tasks
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English
- Knowledge of additional language (French, Spanish) would be considered an asset.
- Can work within tight deadlines
- Able to work independently and within a group.
- Self motivated with good leadership potential.
